Welcome to Northeastern Pennsylvania Pre-Apprenticeship Initiative's website

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Pre-Apprenticeship Initiative's Build Your Future program connects high school seniors to opportunities in the Building and Construction trades. Through a partnership with the Northeastern Pennsylvania Labor Management Council, local Workforce Investment Boards, the Building and Construction Trades Council, Educational Institutions and PA CareerLink, the Pre-Apprenticeship Initiative works to provide qualified applicants to the Building and Construction trades apprenticeship programs.

How does it work?

  • Take classes in basic math, construction, and work readiness
  • Hear guest speakers from the trades and visit union training centers and work sites
  • Earn a stipend and a bonus for perfect attendance

The Pre-Apprenticeship Initiative's Out-of-School program is an eccelerated program designed for those who already have their high school diploma or GED. Applicants for the "Build it Now" program must be over the age of 18.
