Schuylkill Class Graduates 8 with Perfect Attendance
The last scheduled Pre-Apprenticeship class graduated on Tuesday evening, May 26th from the Schuylkill Technology Center, South Campus. The eight students representing 8 school districts in Schuylkill County graduated with perfect attendance. Eve Centrelli, Executive Director of the Labor Management Council and Project Manager for the Pre-Apprenticeship program congratulated the students on behalf of all those involved with the program. Representing the ReDCo Group, Gary MacCready encouraged the students to always strive do their best. Students and parents also heard from Kurt Lynch, Center Director/Principal and Project Coordinator Steve Armillay who had a special thank you to the parents who supported their children as they attended the program. Addressing the students, Centrelli added ” We have given you the “tools” it is up to you to use them. Congratulations and Best of Wishes.”
Lackawanna and Pocono Counties Graduate a total of 26
On May 6th the Lackawanna County Pre-Apprenticeship Class graduated 13 students from Johnson College in Scranton. Guest speakers, President and CEO of Johnson College, Ann Papinski and President of the Scranton Building Trades, Drew Simpson congratulated the students for their accomplishments. In addition, Mr. Simpson presented each student with a gift on behalf of the Scranton Builidng trades. Special guest, Pa State Representative, Ken Smith, addressed the students and their parents and relatives and applauded them for chosing a career path that will provide them good wages and excellent benefits. A congratulatory letter was read on behalf of the Lackawanna County Workforce Investment Board and their Executive Director Virgina Turano who could not be at the event. The WIB gave each student a certificate of achievement and a gift card from Lowes.
The Pocono Counties Pre-Apprenticeship Classes celebrated their graduation on May 20th at Pleasant Valley High School in Brodheadsville. 13 students completed the program from Monroe and Carbon Counties. Executive Director of the Monroe County Career and Technical Institute Mrs. Patricia Moyer offered congratulations on behalf of the Career Center and all the instructors. Speaking on behalf of the Carbon County Career and Technical Center, Tony Pondish echoed Mrs. Moyer and thanked all those involved with the program. Executive Director of the Pocono Counties Workforce Investment Board, Joseph Sebelin, presented each student with a certificate of achievement and a gift card from the WIB. Students also received a special gift from the building trades.
